Delegation of FC College University visits MQI Secretariat
A high-level delegation of Forman Christian College University led by Prof Dr Charles Ramzay, the head of Interfaith Dialogue Department visited the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International University. He held a meeting with Director of MQI Interfaith Relations Sohail Ahmad Raza. Sohail Ahmad Raza briefed the delegation about services and contributions of MQI and its leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. He focused on welfare and education projects in his briefing.

By the grace of Allah Almighty, MWL Sheffield arranged 10 special programmes to mark the first 10 days of Muharram. These took place at houses of different sisters. On the 9th of Muharram, the Halqa commenced with recitation of the Glorious Quran including the Surah Yaseen by all the sisters that attended. Over the ten days four Quran e Majeed were completed. Sister Nasreen Akhtar (MWL UK Dawah Secretary) delivered a heartfelt speech on tragic events of Karbala.
Prof Dr Hassan Qadri is recognised as a young renowned Islamic scholar, who prolific orator and an energetic human rights campaigner and internationally highlighting Islam as a religion of peace and harmony for all mankind. Dr. Hassan was declared as a well acknowledged young “Muslim and Champion of Unity worldwide” by the FARS news agency of Iran.
Canada: Zikr-e-Hussain-Conference by MQI Vicoria
‘Zikr e Imam e Hussain Conference’ was held under the banner of MQI (Victoria, Australia). Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of MQI Federal Council, was the keynote speaker on the occasion. A large number of people attended the Conference. The proceedings of the event got under way with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat and ‘manqabat’ in the honour of Hazrat Imam-e-Hussain (RA). In his address, Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri paid glowing tributes to Hazrat Imam-e-Hussain (RA). He threw light on the life and contributions of the revered Imam.
MWL (Manchester) presented a three month course on “Introduction to Islamic teachings" which focused on ‘Tajweed, Aqeedah and Fiqh’. The course was delivered by Allama Haroon Abbasi, respected scholar at Minhaj-ul-Quran Manchester. Sister Shameem Akhtar (President) and all MWL Manchester sisters promoted this course at their weekly ‘Halqa-e-Durood’ gatherings that are held regularly. Assessments were carried out on the 8th of August. This included a written and verbal test.
On Sunday the 25th October 2015 MWL Bolton held a Sayyida Zainab (AS) Conference at Masjid-ul-Aqsa on Gilnow Road. This also coincided with the Islamic date of 10th of Muharram, the saddest day in the history of Islam. On arrival, all the sisters recited Durood for twenty minutes. The Conference commenced with Sister Akifa Habib reciting the holy Quran with translation from Irfan-ul-Quran rendered by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri.
On the 25th of October 2015 onward, MWL Burnley held Muharram gathering. It was attended by twenty three sisters. The program began with melodious recitation of The Holy Quran by Sister Aaiza Iqbal (Youth League Burnley). This was followed by heart touching ‘Manqabats’ remembering the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his family and companions. These were recited by Sister Aaiza and Sister Rabbia Iqbal and other local sisters.
The Minhaj Women League UK Executive Team held a meeting today in Tinsley with the Tinsley, Sheffield and Rotherham Minhaj Women League chapters on October 25, 2015. The MWL Executive Team consisted of much respected Ms. Fatima Mash'hadi (UK President), Sister Mussarat Hussain (UK General Secretary), Sister Shahida ul Haq (UK Welfare Secretary), Sister Jabeen (Head of Community Work), Sister Asma (Information Secretary), Sister Nusrat (South President) and Sister Rukhshanda (South General Secretary).

In Minhaj-ul-Quran Ghous-e-Azam Mosque, a program was held on 24th Oct 2015 about Shahadat-e-Sayyiduna Imam-e-Hussain (A.S). The program started with the recitation of Quran by Qari Muhammad Ismail Hamdani. Naat was recited by Hafiz Muhammad Mukarram Niazi and Manqabat by Muhammad Zahid.
By the grace of Almighty Allah (SWT), the MWL Rotherham Sisters organised ten-day Muharram gatherings for the local sisters, which started on 15th of October until the 24th of October. Sister Shaheena Qureshi (MWL Rotherham President) commenced the programmes by reciting various passages from the Irfan-ul-Quran including Surah ‘Lahab’ and Surah Ikhlas with translation.
On the 24th October, Muslim Youth League (Brothers) organised a trip to visit possibly the world’s oldest known manuscript of the Qur’an. People from all over the world, from countries as far as New Zealand, have travelled to see this remarkable manuscript of the Qur’an. This manuscript of the Qur’an is being looked after in Birmingham University. The Qur’an manuscript is part of the University’s Mingana Collection of Middle Eastern manuscripts, held in the Cadbury Research Library.
Pegham e Imam-e-Hussain (A.S) Conference
MQI Bahrain chapter organized the Conference on the 10th of Muharram to mark the occasion of the Great Shahadat of Imam e Hussain (A.S.) and his companions. The program was scheduled in two sessions. Quran Khawani (Recitation of Holy Quran) was planned in first session where the attendees recited Holy Quran and the chapter Yaa-Seen for blessed souls of the great martyrs.
By the Grace of Almighty Allah and the blessings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.), Minhaj-ul-Quran International London held annual Muharram Conference on 23rd October 2015. The proceedings of the programme began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by a renowned nasheed artist, Mr Jalal Masumi, from Sakina Trust followed by salutations upon the Prophet (SAW) and manqabat by students from Minhaj School of Islamic Sciences.
