By the Grace of Allah Almighty and blessings of the Holy Prophet (SAW) Minhaj Women League (UK) Executive under the leadership of Mrs. Fatima Mash’adi completed their first visit to Scotland on 2nd March 2015. The aim of the visit was to reorganise the MWL within Glasgow and also to form new teams to enhance the propagation of the true teachings of Islam under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) within Glasgow and then ultimately within Scotland.
On the 2nd of March, nine sisters attended a gathering at Sister Nasrin’s house in Smethwick. The gathering started promptly at 11 am with the recitation of the Glorious Quran, followed by Nasheeds. The people had the honour of reciting Durood sharif followed by Zikr, Hadith from Al-Minhaj al- Sawi, and a talk in Urdu from Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri's book 'Maloomat e Milad' by Sister Sadia Bibi who is the Dawah secretary for Sandwell Minhaj Women’s League.
The second of three training workshops took place with the North Zone training workshop which was held at Minhaj-ul-Quran International Nelson under the banner of National Executive Council on 1st March 2015. The training workshop started at 10 am and finished sharply at 5pm. The event continued the theme of moral, intellectual, spiritual and geo-political training of workers of Minhaj-ul-Quran International UK which commenced in London on 1st February.
Monthly ‘Gyarvi Shareef’ spiritual programme was held at MQI Walsall on the 1st of March 2015 under the banner of Women League Walsall. The programme started with the beautiful recitation of verses from the Glorious Quran by Sister Tahreem Fazal, a member of Youth League Sisters. Our Beautiful little Minhaji sisters, Khadija-tul-Qubra and Fatima- tul-Zahra praised Allah (SWT) with Hamd. This was followed by sending of greetings and praises on our beloved Prophet (SAW) in the form of Naats recited by sisters Lubna Hashmi, Rani Hussain, Sadia Bibi and sisters from the audience also joined the Naat recitation.
Unfortunately there is an over representation of Muslims in prison constituting more than 14% which is over 12,000 Muslim prisoners in Britain’s jails, whereas the Muslim population of the UK constitutes less than 4%. Mr Michael Spurr, head of the Prison and Probation Service for England and Wales, told the BBC Panorama that “there is a 'significant risk' of Muslim inmates becoming radicalised.”
A Mawlid-ul-Nabi programme (SAW) was organised by Hodge Hill School on the 27th of February 2015. , who kindly requested Sister Rukhsana Parveen (MWL President of Birmingham) to organise the second half of the Mawlid-ul-Nabi (SAW). Mrs. Brown welcomed everyone and invited Farah Malik to host the first half of the programme and called their own girls to recite Surah fatiha and read nasheeds.
During these highly successful meetings, the roles and responsibilities of each member of Minhaj Women League was discussed in detail. As well as the working plan for the full year was discussed and any questions were answered. All subjects were discussed and explained both in English and Urdu languages. This was followed by the explanation of Minhaj-ul-Amal, which was described to members in great detail. This was highlighted as being an important part of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri s instructions to explain the Minhaj-ul-Amal to workers which is guidance and a spiritual tool for Minhaj-ul-Quran members and workers.
Minhaj Women League (Walsall chapter) organized a Halqa-e-Durood Mehfil at Saiqa Azhar’s house on the 25th of February 2015. The Mehifil started at 1 pm with recitation from the Glorious Quran by Sister Shazia Naz, followed by all sisters reciting Qaseeda Burda Shareef and Durood Shareef aloud for a few minutes and then Durood Shareef was read silently. Sister Lubna Hashmi recited a beautiful Naat.

By the Grace of Almighty Allah, Minhaj-ul-Quran International London celebrated the 64th birthday of our beloved Quaid Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. The proceedings of the programme began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Hafiz Asim Shabbir. Quran khawani was also recited individually by the attendees alongside Nawafil prayers led by Director Minhaj-ul-Quran London Allama Muhammad Zeeshan Qadri for the good health and long life of our beloved Quaid
On Tuesday 24th February 2015, Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League London held the 1st Monthly Gosha-e-Durood gathering at MQI London Centre. All the attendees offered optional prayers for the success of this initiative. Then everyone read Durood Shareef individually. The programme started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Sister Jannat-ul-Firdous who also hosted the event. She welcomed all the guests and gave an inspirational talk on the importance of Durood Shareef.
With the help of Almighty Allah and the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and on his family) 10 sisters attended ‘Halqa-e-Durood’ gathering, which was held under the banner of Minahj Women League (Sandwell) on February 23, 2015. The programme was organized at the residence of Sadia Bibi (Dawah Secretary, MWL). The gathering started promptly at 1pm with recitation of the Glorious Quran by Tasleem Kauser (President of MWL Sandwell), followed by Nasheeds by Sadia Bibi.
MYL UK – Sisters recently re-launched their study circles in Bradford. Henceforth, the study circles will be continuing regularly on every third Sunday of the month between 1:30 pm and 3:45 pm. The first study circle of MYL UK – Sisters in Bradford took place on 22nd February 2015 in Manningham library. The discussion topic of the first study circle was, "Why am I the Only One Suffering?" Upon arrival, the attendees were given worksheets containing a brief introduction, Quranic verses and Hadith which were going to be studied in the session.
Sister Mussarat Hussain who has been a dedicated member of Minhaj ul Quran Women League and presently holding the position of General Secretary UK informed the workers on how to work successfully as part of a team ensuring each member participates in the organizational activities. She highlighted the importance of sparing time for purposeful activities aimed spreading message of MWL. This entails respecting each other through a loving and caring manner, she added. She further went on to explain the Women League structure in detail.
On the 22nd of February, Minhaj Women League and Minhaj-ul-Quran Manchester organized a Quaid Day celebration at Eastern Pearl Banqueting Hall where Shaykh ul Islam’s 64th birthday was celebrated with traditional zeal and zest. The programme began with Tilawat e Quran which was followed by Naat and Quaid Day anthem was presented by brothers. Among the special guests was the Lord Mayor of Oldham Attiq-ur-Rehman and Allama Ahmed Nisaar Baig who has been a very active and influential member of local mosques in Greater Manchester.

The 64th birthday of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri was celebrated across the world including Pakistan with utmost simplicity. Two dozen goats were slaughtered on behalf of PAT leaders and workers at the central secretariat and special prayer ceremonies were held. The students of educational institutions, colleges and university belonging to Minhaj-ul-Quran arranged special ceremonies on the occasion. Rich tributes were paid to Dr Qadri for his multiple services for promotion of peace, interfaith dialogue and harmony in the world.
