Grand Public Reception gets underway unofficially
The participants of public meeting started coming to the venue from the morning of December 21 and the number reached hundreds of thousands by the evening. Organized traffic and security arrangements were made on the adjoining roads of Minar-e-Pakistan on the first day. The caravans of people coming into the main venue from Data Darbar, Railway Station, Lari Adda, and Shahdra did not have to face any difficulty. Excellent security arrangements have been made for the hundreds of thousands of participants. The hundreds of volunteers of MYL along with local police and law enforcement agencies have made satisfactory security arrangements in and around the venue.

All eyes on December 23: MQI
A large number of children took out a rally in Islamabad on December 19 as part of campaign to mobilize masses to extend historic welcome to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri on his arrival in Pakistan and to promote awareness among the people about the corrupt political and electoral system in the country.
Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that the count-down is on and only four days are left before the historic arrival of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in Pakistan. He said that the total area of Minar-e-Pakistan had been declared as the venue of the gathering and the huge central stage was being prepared for last two days. He said that hundreds of thousands of men, women and families would turn up at Minar-e-Pakistan to extend exemplary and historic welcome to Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on his return. He said that separate seating arrangements would be made for women. He said that there would be no arrangement of chairs in the venue.
Minhaj-ul-Quran Ullama Council organized a seminar on the subject of ‘Let us save state, not politics’ in the federal capital on December 15, 2012. The programme was held as part of preparations of December 23. Religious scholars of all schools of thoughts attended the seminar.
Reforms before elections is my agenda: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
A motorcycle rally was taken out under the banner of MQI Faisalabad in connection with grand public reception in honour of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri on December 23. The hundreds of motorcyclists took part in the rally. The participants were carrying placards and chanting slogans in favour of peaceful and democratic change.
Baba Ghulam Haider Butt with his youthful energy is on his way to Lahore for 23rd Dec (Day of change) arrived Wazirabad with his Grand Son Muhammad Talha Butt. His other Grand Son Muhammad Mannan Butt again joined him at Wazirabad after attempting his Last paper of Bachelors. The spirit of Baba for change and against this ridiculous system can be measured for the fact that even the rain of this Season failed to stop his journey.
Speaking to Saqlain Imam, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that he believed in the democratic and political system. He rejected this notion that somehow he was trying to get the elections postponed or delayed. He said that his agenda was that electoral reforms should be undertaken before elections were held, adding in the same context that if elections were held without any kind of reform, it will expose the country to more crisis and be a repeat of what has been happening in this country for last sixty plus years.
A high powered delegation of all forums of MQI (Kasur) held a meeting with Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of MQI’s Supreme Council, in the central secretariat on December 13. The delegation included Rahmat Ansari, Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, Nadeem Mustafai, Chaudhry Sarfraz, Hamid Saeed, Rana Akbar Ali, Sheikh Zafar Iqbal Junaid, and others. Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, and Ishtiaq Hanif Mughal were also present on the occasion. The proceedings of the meeting started with recitation from the Holy Quran followed by Naat. The participants were briefed about December 23.
Mrs Iqbal said that the nation would come to know on that day as to who their real leader was. She said that the arrival of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri would lay the basis of a sustained struggle for restoration of people’s rights. She said that due to current electoral system, the masses were deprived of their due rights under the law and Constitution so much so that they did not have access to basic necessities of life.
Women ready to play their role for change: MWL Lahore
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of MQI’s Supreme Council, has said that oceans of people would reach Lahore on December 23 to give historic welcome to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, which will be the biggest peaceful gathering of the country.

On the 9th of December, Minhaj Women League (Nelson chapter) organised a Shohada-e-Karbala conference which begun with the recitation from the Holy Quran by Ghulam Fatima.
Addressing the lawyers community, Prof Muhammad Rafique Habib said that Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri would launch peaceful and democratic struggle for change in the system on his arrival. He said that Dr Qadri would be accorded the biggest ever welcome in the country’s history on his return at Minar-e-Pakistan. He said that Dr Qadri has shown the people a way out of current set of problems by telling them that electoral system was responsible for their predicaments.
