Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League (France) celebrated Mother’s Day, on 16th May 2010. Mrs. Mumtaz Malik, the General Secretary of Minhaj Women League hosted the programme. The program got underway with the recitation of the Holy Quran by sister Tayba. Hamd-e-Bari was presented by Sister Basma Qazi. Followed by a poem on mother read out by Mrs Tahira Sehar. Then Minhaj Naat Coucil comprising Samina, Nashia, Tasneem, Habiba, Madiha, Tayba, Samreen, Rabia and Sehrish presented a very beautiful Naat and qawali with daff and zhikr which added life to the activity.
Minhaj Reconciliation Council (Oslo) organized a prestigious seminar on the subject of “Role of women in society building” in the Minhaj-ul-Quran International center, attended by people belonging to different walks of life in a large number. Allama Muhammad Ramzan Qadri, principal of the Farghana Institution (Manchester) and the student of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was the chief guest on the occasion, while Naat Khawan, Kabeer Hussain, also flew in from Manchester on special invitation.

The terrorists who recently killed more than 2 dozen people in Baquba, Iraq, in a series of pre-election suicide attacks, were not on the receiving end of a message sent earlier this month by a prominent Muslim scholar.

The concluding ceremony of second Irfan-ul-Quran Course was held in the Quaid-a-Azam Standard School Milad Nagar under Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League Rawalpindi. Director of Irfan-ul-Quran Course Allama Sharif Sialvi, Rana Sajud Mahmood, Saeed Raja and Furrukh Bilal were present among the distinguished audience. The formal proceedings of the programme got under way with recitation from the Holy Quran followed by Naat. Certificates were distributed among the successful students. Expressing their views on the occasion, the position holding students appreciated the utility of the Irfan-ul-Quran Course.

The Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League team led by Nazima WL Miss Sumaira Rafaqat Advocate paid a detailed visit to its Islamabad chapter on May 9, 2010. The other team members on visit included Naib Nazima Women League Miss Sajida Sadiq and Miss Fareeha Khan Nazima Dawa. The visit aimed at monitoring the pace, quality as well as quantity of the output of the local chapter.
The PhD students, currently pursuing their Doctorates from the Polytechnic College of the Toronto University of Italy, organized the first Dhiker and Naat programme in which Muhammad Ijaz-ul-Haq, cultural attaché of the Pakistani embassy in Milan, was the guest of honour. Allama Hafiz Nazir Ahmad Qadri flew all the way from Holland to Italy to ignite the fire of love for the Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) in the hearts of the students.
Central Nazima Women League Miss Sumaira Rafaqat Advocate accompanied by Nazima Dawa Fareeha Khan paid a detailed visit to Minhaj-ul-Quran Rawalpinidi local chapter, on May 8, 2010. The visit aimed at following up work of the local chapter in pursuit of the targets fixed in the annual working plan and study the requirements in achieving the objectives as laid down.
The Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League organized a grand exhibition of books and lecture DVDs and CDs by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the second of the series, in F-9 Park Islamabad on May 8, 2010. Nazima Women League Miss Sumaira Rafaqat Advocate was the chief organizer.
Minhaj Reconciliation Council and Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League co-hosted a seminar on the issue of forced marriages in the social, cultural and religious contexts in its central secretariat in Lahore on May 6, 2010. The chief guest on the occasion, Robert Kvile, Norwegian ambassador to Pakistan, said that Norway enjoys very cordial relations with Minhaj-ul-Quran International and we are working together for the resolution of issues faced by the civil society and people at large.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that another area of misunderstanding is that people with vested interest propagated that the Sufis taught monasticism and renunciation of world. Sufism was debunked to prove as if the Sufis were the creation of another world having nothing to do with practical realities of life. The fact of the matter is that Sufism is the embodiment of peace, tranquility and love and nothing else. It represents the best in humanity for its welfare.
On May 5, 2010, a ceremony to honour the scholarship winners was held under the joint banner of Minhaj Education Society and Minhaj Education Board in the central secretariat. Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi presided over the programme. Renowned educationist and chairman of Minhaj Education Society S.M. Zafar, Director of Society Shahid Latif, renowned educationist Khairat Muhammad Ibne Rasa also attended the ceremony.
The Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League local chapter Multan organized the “Khawateen-e-Islam Conference” in Multan Art Council on May 2, 2010. The Conference was held to highlight the commendable historical role the Muslim Women have played in various eras of history and rouse an awakening among the womenfolk today and the significance of their dynamic participation in the main stream of life and contributing their bit in the emancipation of human society.
