Season's Greetings and Happy New Year
Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council organized 'Shahadat-e-Imam Hussain (R.A) Conference' on December 27, 2009 on the 9th of Moharram in the central secretariat. Amir-e-Tehreek Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani presided over the conference.
Dr Muhammad Tariq Jarral passes away
Dr Muhammad Tariq Jarral breathed his last in Ittefaq Hospital a few days ago. He remained in hospital for treatment for a few days but could not survive. He was brother of President MQI Virginia, USA Mr Noor Muhammad Jarral.
Minhaj-ul-Quran International (Austria) arranged a number of programmes to observe the 'epoch of Karbla'. Held as a means to strengthen the faith and relationship of love with the Prophet's Household, the programmes stared on December 24, 2009 and culminated on the 10th of Muharram.
American Muslim Council, in coordination with Minhaj-ul-Quran International North America (Houston Chapter), organized a dinner in honour of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, who is currently on tour of the USA. The Event was organized at Hilton Hotel in Southwest area of Houston, the largest city in the State of Texas, and the fourth largest city in the United States.
Minhaj-ul-Quran International (Italy Chapter) organized organized 'Martyrs of Karbla' Conference on December 26, 2009, which was attended by Italian convert, Muhammad Idrees Shahzali, in addition to the executive members. A large number of participants including men, women, renowned social and political figures and business personalities attended the programme.

A delegation of Minhaj ul Quran International went to Ittefaq Hospital Lahore to visit Dr Tariq Jarral (a pioneer member of MYL Gujranwala) brother of Noor Muhammad Jarral (president of MQI Vergina USA) who is ill and is admitted in the hospital for treatment. The delegation comprised Muhammad Mustafa (G M Malik) (Director of DFA), Haji Muhammad Ilyas Qadri (Director Construction), Allama Ghulam Rasool (President MQI-USA) and Rana Nafees Hussain (Assistant Director Protocol DFA).
Pakistan Awami Tehreek organized a national seminar on the subject of "Quaid-e-Azam's concept of Pakistan & causes of our failures to realize his dream" to commemorate the 134th birth anniversary of the founder of Pakistan in the party's central Secretariat on December 25, 2009.
Director Finance and Media (MQI-Switzerland), Mr. Muhammad Shabbir Anjum Qadri, visited the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International on 24-12-09. Upon the arrival of the distinguished guest, the staff members of the Directorate of Foreign Affairs, led by Director Foreign Affairs Mr. Muhammad Mustafa (GM Malik), warmly welcomed him and briefed him about the progress and ongoing activities of MQI at the head office.
Vice Chancellor Minhaj University Dr. Ali Muhammad and his son Dr. Muhammad Azhar Ali working in USA visited the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International on 24-12-09. Upon the arrival of the distinguished guests, the staff members of the Directorate of Foreign Affairs led by Director Foreign Affairs Mr. Muhammad Mustafa (GM Malik), warmly welcomed them and briefed them about the progress and ongoing activities of MQI at the head office.
Director MQI-Greece-Anofita Mr. Tahir Hussain, Vice President MQI-Greece-Anofita Mr. Mohsin Zia and Life Member MQI-Greece Mr. Shahbaz Ahmed Siddique visited the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International on 23-12-09. The Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies of Minhaj University Lahore launched its PhD programme after the successful operation of M. Phil programme. The inaugural ceremony of PhD class was held in the College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences on December 23, 2009, which was presided over by Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, member of Board of Governors, MUL, and president of Federal Council of MQI.
Muhammad Hussain Hashmi and his wife from Kamlia city of Punjab, a life member of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, donated their newly constructed home for MQI. They handed over the registry along with the transfer letter to Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi in a small ceremony held in latter's office.

Directorate of Interfaith Relations of Minhaj-ul-Quran International organized a splendid Happy Christmas ceremony in the Suffa Hall of the central secretariat, which was presided over by Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, chairman of Federal Council of MQI.
At the invitation of the chairman of International Gospel Mission, Reverend Dr Marqas, a delegation of Minhaj-ul-Quran Intrernational participated in the programme. Muhammad Mustafa (G M Malik); director foreign affairs MQI, Sohail Ahmad Raza; director interfaith relations of MQI, Iftikhar-ul-Hasan Chishti and Muhammad Aleen Khan represented the movement. The delegation – on behalf of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the founder of MQI – presented a wreath of flowers to Reverend Dr Marqas who was the host at the programme.
