Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi, grand Mufti of Pakistan, reached France on an organizational visit the other. He was given a red carpet welcome upon his arrival at the Paris airport. The reception party included Allama Iqbal Azam, director of MWF, Abdul Jabbar Butt, president of Minhaj-ul-Quran International France, Rana Faisal Ali Qadri, Secretary General MQI France, Rao Khalil Ahmad, media coordinator European Council and Haji Ahmad, member of the consultative council.

Directorate of Interfaith Relations of Minhaj-ul-Quran International organized a national seminar on August 13 to mark the Independence Day in the central secretariat of MQI. Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani, the central president of MQI, presided over the seminar, whereas the chief guests included Pundit Baghat Lal, Noushair F. Dastoor, Bishop Yousuf, Dr Kanwal Feroz, Jacqueline Tresslor and Pastor Denial.
Mohammed Tahir ul-Qadri is on the phone, talking about war, but he is not referring to guns. "I don't know how to use a pistol," admits the Pakistani-born Islamic scholar, who is in Birmingham, England, at the moment, though he spends roughly 10 months a year in Canada, his adopted home for the past several years. "If you put a pistol in my hand, I wouldn't know how to use it."
On August 12, 2009, Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League (MYL) organized a seminar to mark the 62nd Independence Day of Pakistan by the name of “My identity---Pakistan”. The seminar, which coincided on the World Youth Day, was held in the backdrop of MYL’s ongoing membership campaign to enlist the support of the youth for solidarity of Pakistan.

But rather than angry calls for jihad or a vitriolic denunciation of the West and its aggressions against Islam, Mr. Qadri's message, equally forcefully delivered, is about moderation, peace, inclusion and understanding.
Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League organized “Istehkam-e-Pakistan Rally” on August 11, 2009 at the Mall. Hundreds of women and children took part in the rally. The children were carrying Pakistani flags and placards with “Long Live Pakistan” written on them. They also presented national songs during the course of the rally. The rally started from Masjida-e-Shuhda and ended in front of the Punjab Assembly.
"Islam is not a religion of seclusion, it is not a religion of detachment," he thunders from the dais, occasionally pausing to wipe the sweat from his brow or adjust his spectacles. "Any killer of a non-Muslim citizen, he will go to hell. Those who are committing terroristic acts from Pakistan and Afghanistan and claiming it is jihad -- they do not know what jihad is. It is forbidden. There will not be janna (paradise) for them," he hollers, to shouts of approval from his listeners.

Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Muslim Youth League UK organized a three-day annual “Al-Hidayah Youth Camp” at the University of Warwick, which was attended by more than 1200 participants, both boys and girls, from across the world.
The proceedings of the meeting got under way with recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by recitation of Qaseeda Burda Sharif. In his opening remarks, Tahir Mohammed (Secretary General, MQI (NEC) UK) welcomed the guests to the meeting and thanked for their whole hearted efforts and support.
Rana Farooq Alam, finance secretary of MQI UK, visited the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International in Lahore the other day. Upon his arrival, the staff members of the Directorate of Foreign Affairs welcomed him. Director Muhammad Musftafa (G.M. Malik) conducted the respected guest to the directorates, branches and departments of the Secretariat. Later, he called on Secretary General MQI Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi and Muhammad Musftafa (G.M. Malik) and apprised them of MQI UK’s contribution to the promotion of peace, interfaith dialogue and harmony.
The members of DFA Staff had a meeting with Member Supreme Council MQI Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri at Aiwan-e-Quaid on 9th Aug, 2009. A detailed briefing was presented by DFA in this meeting to Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri regarding the present Structure of DFA, last five years progress reports of foreign sales, membership and donations and about the current network and ongoing activities of Minhaj-ul-Quran International in the foreign world.

Directorate of Interfaith Relations; Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Press Institute of Pakistan jointly hosted a seminar to mark the Independence Day of the country. The topic of the seminar was “Punjab: a new target of terrorists and role of media in projection of national solidarity”
The central 44th programme of monthly Spiritual Gathering for August 2009 was held in the Central Secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. A large number of people, both men and women, from across Lahore participated in the programme. A separate place was demarcated for the women in the venue. Sahibzada Miskin Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani presided over the programme, whereas Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri also attended the programme on special invitation.
Directorate of Training of MQI organized a three-day staff training course at the Central Secretariat from 3 Aug, 2009 to sharpen the skills and build up the professional capacity of employees working at the Secretariat. The training course addressed such areas as administrative, organizational and moral matters.
Rarely does a single event become a defining one for a particular Mosque or city, one that becomes a form of identity for its venue. Yet the Gauth-ul-Azam Conference held at Manchester Central Mosque (Victoria Park), on Sunday 2nd August 2009 was certainly that for many reasons. First and foremost being that it was blessed by the presence of one of the highest authorities in the Muslim world in terms of Islamic learning and also one of the highest spiritual personalities and Sufis of the time, that being non other than Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
The students of Minhaj-ul-Quran Model Schools achieved numerous successes in the matriculation examination held this year throughout the province of Punjab. Hina Ashraf, a student of Minhaj-ul-Quran Girls High School, Gulfashan Colony, Faisalabad, scored first position in the Faisalabad Board.
By the grace of Almighty Allah and the blessings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him) the Minhaj-ul-Qura’n Women League organized its five day training camp for Tanzimaat to train them on both spiritual and moral bases to enhance their output in the field.
