Relief goods collected by Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) for the affectees of Ghaza were handed over to Palestinian embassy on February 12, 2009 for its onward dispatch to the Palestinian city. A 40-feet long container was dispatched to Jeddah from Karachi under the supervision of the Palestinian embassy. The remainder of relief goods has been left under the care of Palestinian Ambassador Jaser Ahmad Mahmood Muhammad. The relief goods include more than 2000 blankets, folding beds, clothes and medicine.
MQI grieved over the death of Nawab Bashir Ahmad
All-Pakistan inter-collegiate celebrations began in the College of Shariah & Islamic Sciences (COSIS) of the Minhaj University on February 9, 2009 in connection with the upcoming 58th birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, ambassador of peace and human development. The Quranic recitation & Naat competition kick-started the week-long celebrations under the banner of 'Bazm-e-Minhaj', a representative organization of students.
The annual meeting of Students Parliament of Mustafi Students Movement (MSM) was held on February 8, 2009 in the central secretariat. MSM president Muhammad Zeeshan Baig acted as speaker, whereas Secretary General MSM, Sajid Gondal was the deputy speaker. The session was attended among others by Ghulam Mustafa Noorani, Muhammad Hafeez Kayani, Saeek Khan, Rizwan Ali Qadri, Ismail Inam, and Tayyab Zia. Past presidents of MSM, Taveer Khan, Latif Sandhu and Ishtiaq Chaudhry attended the session on special invitation.
MQI holds Condolence reference in memory of journalist Roman Ehsan
Directorate of Media & Public Relations of Minhaj-ul-Quran International organized a condolence reference in the memory of the renowned journalist Roman Ehsan who died a few days after protracted illness. Senior journalist and brother of late Roman Ehsan, Irfan Ehsan, presided over the reference, while Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, the son of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, and naib Nazim-e-Ala of MQI, Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, also attended the programme to pay tribute to the journalistic services of late Roman Ehsan.
Imam of al-Aqsa Mosque, ash-Shaykh Dr Taseer Rajib at-Tamimi, visited Minhaj-ul-Quran International France on February 7, 2009. Dr Shaykh at-Tamimi is a judge of Supreme Council of Shariah and president of Shariah Supreme Court. Besides this, he is the head of Palestinian Centre for Civilizational Dialogue. He was accompanied by Hassan Shaal Gomi, president Islamic Cultural Association.
Karachi University approved the award of PhD degree to Muhammad Naeem Anwar Nomani, the member of Supreme Council (MQI), on January 15, 2009. The topic of his thesis was "Research study of Hadith-narrators of Punjab in the gradual evolution of Hadith sciences" (1947-2002).
By the grace of Allah Almighty & the blessings of His beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) a beautiful Program of Meelad-e-Mustufa (S.A.W) was arranged by Minhaj-ul-Qura’n Women League Gojra. The Program started by recitation of The Holy Qura’n by Sister Hafiza Rashida followed by beautiful Nasheeds recited by Minhaj Naat Council Gojra.

MQI working for revival of spiritual values in society: Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri
After a long period of waiting, the historic day of February 19, 2009, dawned with immense happiness in store for the workers of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Azad Kashmir. A prestigious ceremony took place in Al-Umar Model Public School Muzaffarabad in connection with the birth anniversary of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in which hundreds of members and leaders of MQI participated.
Minhaj-ul-Quran International (London chapter) organized a reception in the honour of the pilgrims in the Islamic Centre London. The proceedings of the reception started with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by Naat. The guests expressed their feelings at the occasion.
College of Shariah & Islamic Sciences (COSIS) of Minhaj University hosted a special ceremony on January 31, 2009 in the honour of its student of second year, Muhammad Asif Wattoo, under the banner of Bazm-e-Minhaj. The ceremony was meant to honour Muhammad Asif Wattoo for getting 1st position in the All-Punjab declamation contest. COSIS Principal Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi presided over the programme, whereas Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi was the guest of honour at the occasion.
Minhaj-ul-Quran Internation arranged 'Dars-e Irfan-ul-Quran' with the permission of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Thahir-ul-Qadri in the city of Northampton, UK. The Dars is delivered by a young Bangladeshi scholar Mohammed Shaiful Azam who has received his education from Al-Azhar University, Cairo and International Islamic University Malaysia. He has recently received his postgraduate degree from Southborough University UK.
It is sadly informed that Shaykh Ahmad al-Habbal al-Rifa'I (the great Salihin of Damascus) passed away to the endless Mercy of his Gracious Lord. Ahmad was one of the senior most and the most respected scholar of Damascus. He was over 100 years old and was still leading a public dhikr gathering every Friday.
Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Minhaj Welfare Foundation jointly organized a Gaza Conference in the central secretariat of MQI. Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan, His Excellency Mr. Jaser Ahmad, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. Due to participation of central leaders of different religious and political parties and broad-based representation of almost walks of life, the conference turned into an All-Parties Conference (APC).
