Addressing a hurriedly called press conference, PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has announced his retirement from the position of the party's chairmanship and the practical politics. He said that PAT will continue to work, adding that he transferred all the powers back to the elected Supreme Council in line with the rules and regulations of the Election Commission. He said that he would continue to remain focused on his research work, academic, and speaking commitments.

Speaking in London at the ceremony of 30th foundation day of Minhaj Welfare Foundation, he said if a donor is devoid of humanly qualities like compassion and empathy, then his donations are not charity; helping the needy with compassion carries great reward.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow on the demise of elder sister of Dr. AV Mahomed (Chairman Jumma Mosque Durban-S.A). He prayed for her higher place in paradise and for grant of patience to the bereaved family.
