Directorate of Training launches “Learn Religion” Courses

Directorate of Training of Minhaj-ul-Quran International has launched special ‘Learn Religion’ courses throughout the country for the practical training of the workers, associates and members of MQI. A one-day training camp was held in Karachi on October 24, 2010 to prepare teachers for these courses.

Amir-e-Tehreek Karachi Syed Zafar Iqbal, naib Amir-e-Tehreek Qaiser Iqbal Qadri, Nazim Kamaran Mahmood, Ata Muhammad Faheem, Ms Parveen Mustafvi, and Ms Fozia Shaukat of Minhaj Women League also participated in the camp.

Secretary General of the Directorate of Training Ghulam Murtaza Alvi, and Nazim of Irfan-ul-Quran Course Muhammad Sharif Kamalvi lreached Karachi on October 23, 2010 to participate in the camp. The workers gave them warm welcome at the airport. This was the seventh camp aimed at preparation of the teachers under the Directorate of Training.

The registration of the attendants for the camp got underway at 9 am on October 24. More than 230 male and female teachers participated in the camp despite grim conditions in Karachi for last few months. The female participants outnumbered the males. There was representation from all the towns of Karachi.

The proceedings of the camp started off with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by Naat. Allama Ghulam Murtaza Alvi briefed the audience about the aims and objectives of the camp.

His talk was followed by playing of a recorded speech of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri on the ‘Superiority of knowledge’. Muhammad Sharif Kamalvi delivered a lecture on Irfan-ul-Quran courses, a grand project currently underway throughout the country. The participants liked the idea of Irfan-ul-Quran Course and the teaching methodology of the lecturer.

Allama Ghulam Murtaza Alvi told the participants about “Learn Religion” course that it spans over three days and it is incumbent upon all the office holders, associates and workers of MQI to take part in the course to learn about imparting fundamental teachings of Islam.

The two-member delegation also held separate meetings with the attendants representing different towns to explore the ways to launch courses there.

Qaiser Iqbal Qadri and Syed Zafar Iqbal Qadri thanked the central leaders at the conclusion of the camp and felicitated them on organizing such a successful camp. They also assured the visiting leaders that courses would be initiated in Karachi at the earliest and all possible efforts would be made in this regard. Ata Muhammad Faheem and Mufti Mukarram Minhajian were chosen with consensus as head and the secretary of a committee respectively, responsible for launching courses in Karachi. The camp ended on Dua.
