Minhaj Welfare Foundation Walton Road Lahore organized a ceremony on January 24, 2011 to distribute books and uniforms among the female students in the Government College High School Walton Bab-e-Pakistan. Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, senior Deputy Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, was the guest of honour on the occasion. Iftikhar Shah Bokahri, Director of Minhaj Welfare Foundation, presided over the program.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the system currently in vogue in the country is geared to protect the vested interests of the powerful elite and no one is raising any voice against this corrupt and oppressive system. He further said that the privileged sections of society are on the same page to protect this discriminatory arrangement. The holders of fake degrees, he added, are the members of assemblies after getting elected again on the strength of their purse.

A two-day meeting of Mustafvi Students Movement’s Parliament was held on January 15-16 in the central secretariat in Lahore. Mr. Tajjamal Hussain Inqalabi, Speaker of the Students Parliament, presided over its meeting, which was attended by the representatives of the student community from across all the four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and AJ&K.

On Sunday, the 9th of January 2011, the Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League organized a conference in Glasgow’s Minhaj-ul-Quran Centre to commemorate the Martyrs of Karbala. The program commenced with the recitation and translation of verses from the Holy Quran by Sister Habeeba.
Shaykh-ul-Islam said that the priorities of people had changed due to dominance of materialism. All human efforts, struggle and pursuits were directed towards generating more facilities and easing body. Soul is supreme and more important because connection with body would end one day once the death struck but soul is interminable. He said if soul was pious, it would be a resident of paradise and if it was not so, then its destination was hell.

A Mystical Voyage into the Spiritual Pronouncements of Shaykh Abd Al-Qadir Al-Jilani and Jalal Al-Din Al-Rumi
On January 2, 2011, a National Conference on the subject of “Role of Media…..Democracy & Politics, attended by all elements of national opinion, was held in the central secretariat under the banner of Directorate of Media, Pakistan Awami Tehreek. The proceedings of the conference got underway with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by Naat. People belonging to different walks of life addressed the conference.
An annual conference was organized at Minhaj-Ul-Quran international Oslo in the remembrance of Imam Hussain (R.A.) on the 1st of January, in which numerous people from Oslo and surrounding areas participated.
By the Grace of Allah Almighty & the Blessings of His Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.), a Training Workshop was organized by M.S.M. (Sisters) Faisalabad. The workshop started with the recitation of verses from The Holy Quran followed by a beautiful Nasheed & salutations sent on Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.).
Allama Ghulam Murtaza Alvi threw light on the topic of “Welfare of Humanity in Islam”. Referring to a Tradition of the Holy Prophet (SAW), he said that the Prophet said: “The best among the people is he who is more productive for (common) people.” By presenting the notion of mutual cooperation, Islam has taught us the lesson of brotherhood, respect, and prosperous life.
