A third meeting of National Peace Council (NPC) was held in the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) with Mr. Ehsan Wain (General Secretary ANP) in the chair. The meeting drew broad-based participation and representation by religious and political parties across the political divide.
The 43rd monthly session of the spiritual gathering of Gosh-a-Durood under Minhaj-ul-Quran International was held on July 2, 2009, which was presided over by central Amir of MQI, Sahibzada Miskin Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani. Acting Secretary General MQI, Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, Anwar Akhtar Advocate, Javed Iqbal Qadri, Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi, Prof Muhammad Nawaz Zafar, Dr Shahid Mahmood, Allama Farhat Hussain Shah, Jawad Hamid, Sahibzada Muhammad Hussain Azad, Dr Tanvir Azam Sandhu and other central leaders of MQI attended the program.
The Muslim youth needs to make a choice out of two available options namely fulfillment of the desires of their ill-commanding selves or pleasure of Allah Almighty in this materialistic age, for as long as the identification of destination would not be done, they would continue their journey but would fail to reach the destination.
A youth Suhba took place on Saturday in Jamia Masjid Minhaj ul Quran London. The event which was organised by the Muslim Youth League UK was a spiritual and educational training session in the companionship of Shaykh ul Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri. Unidentified people entered into the house of president MQI Dera Ismail Khan, Farooq Ahmad Khan and opened fire on him, which caused his martyrdom. The brother of the martyr also sustained injuries and is under medical treatment in a local hospital.
A monthly lecture on Irfan-ul-Quran was organized under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Ghothki on June 24, 2009, in Public Park after the Isha prayers. The venue was decorated with beautiful banners and placards.
Located in the suburbs of Norwegian capital, Oslo, beautiful Daraman city is a home to large number of Muslim community of Pakistani origin since 1970s. Owing to the efforts of people with religious fervour and taste, a religious organization by the name of Jamat-i-Ahle Sunnet came into being in 1987. Efforts were initiated for the religious education and training of children.
Pakistan is passing through a critical phase. Mood of gloom and fears of terrorism are prevailing in the country. Since Islam firmly believes in upholding certain basic moral values such as chastity and modesty, which are considered the building blocks of society, it is preferred both morally and ethically that a boy and a girl should not go directly and give his or her offer of marriage to the second party. This arrangement should be done through a third party, preferably the family. Islam most definitely encourages arranged marriages but categorically prohibits forced marriages.
The issue of forced marriages has become an immensely contentious one, resulting in media frenzy over such cases and highlighting a growing problem amongst those communities which in particular belong to the Asian sub-continent. Unfortunately, if a Muslim is involved in such matters it has become the norm to assume that Islam must thus condone such actions. This article thus deals with the issue of forced marriages and tends to explore Islamic perspective on it.
On June 15, 2009, Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, visited the Headquarter of Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSC) and held meeting with the party’s leadership. National and religious services of Shaheed Dr Sarfraz Naeemi will always be remembered. The Islamic Umma pays him rich tribute and is indebted to him for his commendable services for unity of Umma, research and eradication of sectarianism and extremism from society.

Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, left France for Italy on the second leg of organizational tour of Europe. Abdul Jabbar Butt, president of MQI France, PAT's president France Tariq Chaudhry, president of media council Rao Jaleel Ahmad, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad and other members of Tehreek bade farewell to the Secretary General at the renowned Charles De Gaulle Airport.
