A speech competition was organized under the banner of Minhaj Speakers Forum of COSIS (Minhaj University) a few days ago. Three different topics were prescribed for this competition namely "Responsibilities of Muslim Umma and protection of sanctity and status of the Prophethood", "Role of Youth in the challenges faced by Pakistan" and "Human Society and Minhaj-ul-Quran International". The speakers representing different Houses took part and delivered speeches on these topics.
A Milad Rally was organised by Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League in Karachi. After Salaat ul Isha, a rally started from Tariq Road Main chowrangi and about 02 KM distance from Tariq Road to Bahadurabad Chowrangi traveled in 02 hours. People began to emerge after Maghrib prayer in great numbers to join the rally, MYL representatives began to distribute burning torches and colorful flags to everyone. All peoples line up in the procession and began reciting the durood.

Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League has organised Milad Festival in the Race Cource Park, Lahore. This festival is being held between April 18 to April 20, 2008, in which prominent personalities from across Pakistan and abroad will participate. This festival was inaugurated by Justice (r) Wajeeh-ud-Din Ahmad, former judge of Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) organized a splendid ceremony of the congregational marriages of 23 couples at the Central Secretariat on April 13, 2008. This ceremony was arranged in connection with the ongoing celebrations marking the birth anniversary of the holy Prophet (saw). A vast and well-decorated venue was set up in the ground facing the Central Secretariat.
Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League organized the second annual Mahfil-e-Naat of children in the Ladies Club Model Town, Lahore on April 13, 2008. This programme was in connection with the ongoing Milad celebrations under Minhaj-ul-Quran International. The daughters of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Mrs Qurat ul Ain Fatima and Ms Qurat ul Ain Ayesha co-chaired the programme, whereas grand daughter of Shaykh-ul-Islam Durra-tuz-Zahara was the guest of honour at the occasion.
On April 11, Naib Amir-e-Tehreek Brig. (r ) Iqbal Ahmad Khan visited Bahrain. An introductory meeting was arranged in the Pakistan Club. On April 13, a special dinner was also arranged in the honour of visiting Naib Amir-e-Tehreek which was attended by office-holders and members of MQI Bahrain. Brig. (r ) Iqbal Ahmad Khan gave a comprehensive briefing about the expanding network of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and other administrative matters. A group photograph was taken at the end of the dinner.
Durind the event, Muhammad Javid Akhtar, In-charge of the Minhaj-ul-Quran Educational Project, presented an update on the progress made on behalf of Minhaj-ul-Quran Halifax to Allama Idrees Sahib, and mentioned that we are very lucky to have had a visit from Shaykh-ul-Islam in 1990 which was the starting point of Shaykh-ul-Islam's tour of the UK, during this tour Shaykh-ul-Islam also opened the very first Minhaj-ul-Quran Library in Halifax at this residence.
The monthly spiritual gathering of Gosha-e-Durood was organized in the ground in front of the Central Secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International on April 3, 2008 after Isha prayers. Miskin Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani was in the chair, while Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri was the special guest.

Former patron of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Allama Muhammad Anwar Qureshi passed away yesterday. The funeral prayers for the departed soul were offered today on April 4, 2008 (Friday) at 1:45 p.m. in the Muzumal Mosque, Lahore. Central Amir Allama Miskin Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani led the funeral prayers. In addition to a large number of people of the area, the central leadership of MQI attended the funeral prayers.
Allama Muhammad Anwar Qureshi (Leader of Minhaj-ul-Quran) has passed away on 4th April, 2008. His funeral ceremony will be held at Muzamal Mosque near Akbar Chowk on 4th April, Friday on 1:45 pm. All the affiliates and associates of Tehreek Minhaj-ul-Quran are requested to attend the funeral ceremony of renowned worker and leader of Minhaj-ul-Quran. He served Minhaj-ul-Quran with great diligence and his remarkable services will always remain memorable. Now in the next world, he will surely earn the great blessing and reward of his services which he rendered for Minhaj-ul-Quran from Allah Almighty and from His Beloved Prophet Muhammad SAWW. May God bless him with his unlimited blessings for the sake of His Beloved Prophet Muhammad SAWW.

Bazm-e-Qadria of Minhaj University organized a special reception on March 28 in the honour of Pir Sayed Zia-ud-Din Qadri Al-Gillani, the son of the spiritual patron of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Shaykh-ul-Mashaeikh Sayedna Tahir Ala-ud-Din Qadri Al-Baghdadi Al-Gillani. This programme was held in the newly constructed hall of Goush-e-Durood in the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, the office-bearers of Bazm-e-Qadria and other leaders received the respected guest on his arrival at the Secretariat. The teachers of COSIS were also present at the occasion.
Minhaj-ul-Quran International Karachi organized third annual Milad-e-Mustafa conference (saw) on March 29, 2008. The conference was held on the night of 20 Rabi-ul-Awal in Jamia Masjid Rahmania Karachi. Sayed Azmat Ali Shah Hamdani, Mohtamim Dur-ul-Uloom Qamer-ul-Islam Sulemania, presided over the conference, whereas Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri was the chief guest at the occasion. Nazim-e-Ala MQI Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Naib Nazim-e-Ala Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz and Wajid Ali participated as the special guests. Besides this, Dr Khawaja Muhammad Ashraf, Amir-e-Karachi Qaiser Iqbal Qadri, Allama Naeem Anwar Numani and other prominent personalities belonging to different walks of life were also present. Quite a good number of women also participated and separate arrangement was made for them.
A delegation of National Management College visited the Central Secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International on April 2, 2008. The 11-member delegation comprised of officers of Senior Management Wing led by Faculty Head Muhammad Ashfaque Khattak. The other members included Rab Nawaz of District Management Group, economist and planner Zia-ud-Din Azhar, Sayed Muhammad Junaid Shah, Dr Shahnaz Rozina Abid, Dr Sohail Khan of Foreign Service of Pakistan, Dr Umer Baber Khan of Govt. of Baluchistan, Faisal Ismail of Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service and Sohail Tanvir Saddique of Secretariat Group. The delegation undertook visit of MQI, Minhaj University and Minhaj Education Society. The purpose of this visit was to review the organizational structure of Minhaj-ul-Quran International.
Pakistan Awami Tehreek organized "Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan" Seminar in the Lahore Press Club on March 24, 2008. PAT President Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani chaired the seminar, whereas President Supreme Council of MQI Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri and Nazim-e-Ala MQI Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi were the guests of honour at the occasion. The other prominent guests included former Additional Advocate General Punjab Chaudhry Khadim Hussain, vice President of PAT Chaudhry Sharif, naib Nazim-e-Ala Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Nazima Women League Mrs Farah Naaz, Dr Tanveer Azam Sindhu, Sohail Ahmad Raza and Hafiz Ghulam Farid. People belonging to various fields of life attended the seminar in a large number.
The Mawlid un Nabi Conference 2008 took place in Idara Minhaj Ul Quran, Valby in Copenhagen on the 20th March 2008. MQI scholars and other guests presided over the event, while Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees (Markazi Nazim DAwat of TMQ) was invited as guest speaker. The conference attracted hundreds of men and women from across the country marking this year's event with a record-breaking participation.
