A conference on the martyrdom of Syed Imam Hussain (RA), in which a large number of sisters and youth attended, was held in Idara Minhaj ul Quran (Valby) arranged by Women & Women Youth League on Sunday the 20th January. The conference was opened with an introduction from the host Hafiza Saira Hassan followed by a recitation of the beautiful verses from the Quran by sister Aisha Naseem, member of WYL, whereupon the Prophet Muhammad SAW was praised in a naat-e-kalaam recited by Hafza Shah and Javeria Shah.
Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council organized 'the Imam e Hussain (AS) Conference on January 19, 2008 (9th of the holy month of Moharram). Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi presided over the conference, while Sahibzada Hussain Mohi ud Din Qadri was the guest of honour at the occasion. Sayed Ali Ghazanfer Krarvi, Aitullah Agha Zaidi, the chairman of World Peace Council Iran, Allama Hafiz Muhammad Ashraf Chaudhry, Sahibzada Sayed Zubair, Prof Muhammad Nawaz Zafar, Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazzarvi, Allama Haji Imdadullah Khan, Allama Muhammad Hussain Azad and other leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran International were present as guests.
It is by the grace of Allah Almighty and the Blessings of the Beloved Messenger (SAW) that Minhaj-ul-Quran Scotland held its first ever Muharram Mehfil in the city of Edinburgh. The programme commenced with Sister Ambreen, Vice President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League Glasgow, welcoming the participants to the blessed gathering. This was followed by Tilawat (recitation of the Glorious Quran) by Sister Tahira, who recited a few verses from Surah al-Baqarah.
Pakistan Awami Tehreek organized a condolence reference for 'martyr of democracy' Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed in its central secretariat on January 14, 2008. In a humble attempt to reminisce the martyrdom and acknowledge the scale of sacrifices endured by the grandson of the Prophet (SAW), Syedina Imam Hussain (RA), Minhaj-ul-Qur'an International Ireland, dutifully spread the message of Muharram. As a meagre gesture, symbolic of the long journey of the family of the Prophet (SAW) towards Karbala, three days of continuous remembrance and reflection were organised.

The meeting of General Council of Pakistan Awami Tehreek was held on November 25, 2007 under the chairmanship of its central President Miskin Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani in order to formulate new party policy in respect of upcoming general elections 2008. The resolution based on the party policy regarding upcoming elections was moved by PAT Secretary General Anwar Akhtar Advocate, which the General Council approved with consensus, while party Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri endorsed the resolution. According to this resolution, Pakistan Awami Tehreek believes in democracy and electoral process but the present flawed system in vogue in the country was characterized by corruption and thus was anti-thesis of democracy. The country is being led to destruction and decimation in the name of democracy.
The meeting of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League marking its 19th Foundation Day was held on January 6, 2008 in the main office of the central secretariat. The daughter of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Qurra tul Ain Fatima was the chief guest at the occasion. In addition to the Nazima of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women Leauge Farah Naz and members of the executive body, Amir-e-Tehreek Miskin Faiz-ur-Rahaman Durrani, Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Naib Nazim-e-Ala Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz and Nazim Foreign Affairs G. M. Malik were also present as guests.
19th Foundation Day of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League
A special spiritual gathering of Gosha-e-Durood was organized in the ground in front of the Central Secretariat of MQI on January 3, 2008 after Isha prayers. Necessary arrangements were made for the provision of heating during intense winter including specifically decorated venue. Miskin Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani was in the chair, while Sahibzada Hussain Mohy ud Din Qadri was the guest of honour.
President MQI National Executive Council (NEC) UK Abu Aadam Ahmad Al-Shirazi visited the Head Office of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. During his visit he met with Dr. Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi Nazim e Aala , G.M.Malik (Director DFA), Shakeel Ahmed Tahir (Deputy Director) along with their team. They welcome him at DFA-Office and discuss different issues regarding MQI UK and Euorpe. Deputy Director Shakeel Ahmed Tahir gave a detailed briefing to respected guest about the activities of DFA. He visited various departments of central secretariat of Minhaj ul Quran international.
HUNDREDS gathered on the afternoon of Friday 28th December 2007 at the Minhaj al-Quran International Centre based in Forest Gate, London, UK to pay respects to the late former prime minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto.

Chairman PAT Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri expressing his deep grief and condolence on the brutal murder of Muhtarma Benazir Bhutto has strongly condemned this woeful and barbaric incident of terrorism. He termed her assassination as the murder of democracy and a heinous conspiracy and assault against the solidarity of the homeland.
Chairman PAT Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri says his heart is filled with grief and sorrow over the brutal murder of PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto. May Allah bless her with forgiveness and peace. Expressing solidarity with the family members of the late Benazir Bhutto, PPP workers, leaders and the nation at large, Dr Qadri strongly condemned her assassination saying: It is the murder of democracy and political freedom and a heinous conspiracy and a dangerous maneuver of hidden hands to dismember Pakistan. Paying tributes to the dynamic leadership of Banazir Bhutto he called her a gallant daughter of a dauntless father whom the unforeseen forces have removed from the scene. She was a political leader of high stature. Dr Qadri was addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club telephonically from Canada.
