Peace for Humanity Conference under MQI to be held on September 24
One of the world’s leading Muslim clerics will issue a global declaration against terrorism at a speech in London on Saturday. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri will make the declaration at the ‘Peace for Humanity Conference 2011’ at Wembley Arena. The peace declaration, which will call for an end to terrorism and for the protection of human rights in new Arab regimes, is expected to be signed by major religious and political leaders, including David Cameron and the Archbishop of Canterbury. Tariq Jahan, whose son was killed in the Birmngham riots, is also expected to attend.

Tahir-ul-Qadri said acts of terrorism, such as those conducted on 9/11, are “outside the boundaries of Islam.” “The true believer (of Islam) is the one who abstains from harming his neighbor,” he said. “The one who is the true believer of Islam is the one who honors his guests, cares for other people and ends suffering.” Tahir-ul-Qadri gave the annual al-Ghazali Lecture, titled Islam and Peace Today, on Thursday before a capacity audience at Elmhurst College’s Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel.
With the goal of educating the Muslim Ummah about the highly esteemed status of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in an era of confusion, the Houston Chapter of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (North America) was honoured to invite Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri to illuminate the glorious status of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) through verses of the Holy Quran, which explain the highest honour, reverence, greatest esteem and veneration conferred on the Holy Prophet (PBUH) by Allah Almighty.
“Any act against kindness, benevolence, mercy or compassion cannot be perceived as an Islamic action. That is totally outside the boundaries of Islam,” Dr. Qadri told an audience of more than 600 in Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel. The two-hour lecture was attended by prominent Muslim Chicago-area leaders, who interrupted with spontaneous chants of approval.
The observance of International Literacy Day across the globe on September 8 underscores the importance of literacy and education in laying the foundation-stone upon which the edifice of nations’ future is erected. Minhaj Reconciliation Council (Norway) arranged a prestigious seminar in Oslo on the subject of “How to contain extremism?” on September 3, 2011. Shaykh Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, chairman of WAAG Pakistan Branch, was the guest of honour on the occasion. This unique program in the Norwegian history was organized with the cooperation of Police and Justice Departments.

The Itikaf City 2011 held under the aegis of Minhaj-ul-Quran International concluded on August 30, 2011 after the moon of Eid was sighted after evening prayers. The thousands of ‘Mutakifeen’ congratulated one another after the Eid was declared on Wednesday, August 31. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri also felicitated the Mutakifeen on the occasion. He led a tearful Dau through video conferencing from London. The participants took part in the concluding Dua with tearful eyes and sobbing in Jamia al-Minhaj, Township, Lahore.
Dr Khawaja Muhammad Ashraf, patron of Minhaj-ul-Quran Sindh, called on Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. This meeting took place in Karachi on August 27, 2011 during the Chief Minister’s visit to the provincial metropolis. Different issues came under discussion during the meeting. Khawaja Muhammad Ashraf gifted Punjab CM ‘Irfan-ul-Quran’ and Fatwa against Terrorism. S.M. Munir, a renowned industrialist and former president of Pak-India Chamber of Commerce, was also present on the occasion.
