Shaykh-ul-Islam delivered his speech on Tawba today. He started his discourse with the analysis of our response to the wrongs done to us. You wrong the wrongdoer; that is justice. But you respond nicely to the wrongdoer; that is generosity. One should turn away from justice and turn towards generosity. Justice is the lower standard of taqwa or righteousness while generosity is its higher standard.
On 16th September, 2009 the fifth day of Itikaf commenced again with the same blissful routine of the melodious recitation of Durood-o-Salam that has become the daily routine. There is a feeling among ladies what will they do when Itikaf ends, they go back home and get busy in domestic chores. They say they are capturing the Durood melody in their hearts to pass their days after Itikaf.
The fifth day at the 19th Itikaf City of Minhaj-ul-Quran International began with usual melodious voices of people reciting the Word of God and offering Durood and Salutation on the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) collectively. The atmosphere was electrifying with people lost deep in remembrance of their Lord in the early hours of the fifth day of Itikaf. The third annual Mehfil-e-Naat organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League left its penetrating impact on the participants.
HUNDREDS of people gathered at the Minhaj ul Quran International centre in London on Thursday 16th September 2009 to celebrate the night of Laylat al-Qadr – Night of Power. The night is celebrated by Muslims throughout the world and is regarded as a sacred night.

Shaykh-ul-Islam said that brotherhood brings the broken hearts together and is instrumental in seeking an end to the age-old enmities. He also explained the concept of brotherhood with the help of Prophetic traditions. He said that it is saying of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) that piety and good behaviour with the fellow human beings would take people to paradise over and above everything.
Shaykh-ul-Islam said that this is the spiritualistic concept of brotherhood in the Holy Quran. He said that Allah honours and values friendships which are made for Him or for His Sake. On the Day of Judgment, when all people would have gone to paradise, couches would be put up and carpets rolled out for those who loved one another for Allah.
Continuing with its previous tradition, Minhaj Reconciliation Council arranged an Iftar dinner for both Muslims and non Muslims. The Iftaar dinner was hosted on September 15 in the Mosque. Qari Sialwi started the program by reciting some verses from the Holy Quran. Sister Iqra Mustaq, Iqra Iqbal and Iqra Ejaz from Minhaj sisters presented a beautiful Naat Sharif.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri resumed his speech on the topic of ‘Retreat’. He said that Imam Abu al-Qasim has written in his Journal ‘Risala al- Qushayria’ that the inception of the retreat is that man avoids meeting people and mixing up with them freely. The height or end-point of retreat is that he strengthens his relationship with Allah Almighty so firmly that even if he sits among people but still he is not away from Him.
Shaykh-ul-Islam said that less talking increases one’s sustenance and excessive and purposeless speaking decreases it. He said that when one does excessive talking, he resorts to backbiting and commits other vices and perhaps we do not know that backbiting is a sin greater in magnitude than adultery.
On 13 September, 2009 the Ramadan 22nd commenced with the recitation of the devotion of Durood-e-Pak, wakening up the‘mu’takifat’ for Tahajjud prayer. The members of the Salat Committee would chant the devotion charged with love for the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him) and most politely ask the participants to rise and be with their Lord. The supplications to be made at the time of rising from sleep were being announced on the sound system.
Minhaj Youth League Norway carried on the tradition from previous years and arranged an Iftaar program this year as well. The Iftaar program took place on Sunday the 13th September, and was for both sisters and brothers. After a process of inviting people trough posters, flyers, internet, e-mail, text messages and personal invitations - about 100 sisters and brothers joined us in the Iftaar program.
The daily schedual of Women Itikaf starts at Sahri. The Salat Committee was in action according to the schedule. They wakened up the ‘mu’tafikat’ for Tahajjud prayer. Announcements were made on public address system in this connection. Later, the Mess committee came to the fore and served Sahri to the participants.
Thousands of people from across Pakistan and abroad joined the Itikaf City of Minhaj-ul-Quran International on September 11, 2009 on Friday evening. The delegations from the foreign countries had started reaching one week ago for participation in this pious gathering marked by understanding of religion, purgation & purification of ill-commanding self and repentance.
Thousands of women were offered warm welcome to Women Training Itikaf 2009 organized by Central Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League at Itikaf-gah Township Lahore on Friday the 11th of September, 2009. Women participants from all over the country and abroad thronged the Itikaf-gah to join the blessed Itikaf gathering organized every year under the spiritual leadership of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
Alhamdulillah by the grace of Allah SWT and his beloved prophet SAW, during the blessed month of Ramadan MYL UK, London held a 3 day spiritual retreat (I’tikaf) from Friday 11th September till Sunday 13th September at Minhaj-ul-Quran. The event began promptly on Friday after Salatul-Asar where the brothers and sisters were welcomed to the centre and allocated rooms to place their luggage and sleeping bags.
The Minhaj Youth League Norway arranged a three-day optional I’tikaf for brothers and sisters. Separate arrangements for I’tikaf were made for brothers and sisters in Minhaj-ul-Quran Center Oslo. The Itikaf was observed from 11th to 13th of September 2009. The youths thronged the center for registration before the evening ritual prayer. The verve and enthusiasm of the participants was exemplary and highly encouraging and motivating.

Thousands of people would join Itikaf city under the patronage of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri on Friday evening (September 11, 2009). This is the biggest ever collective Itikaf gathering in the Islamic world after that of the Two Holy Mosques.
On the invitation of Dehli Gurdwara Management Committee and Satnam Enterprises Delhi, Sohail Ahmad Raza; Director of Directorate of Interfaith Relations MQI, left for Delhi to participate in book fare held in India on September 1, 2009. Upon reaching Delhi, Sardar Chanchal Singh, secretary of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Sardar Jaswant Singh, Sardar Ashpreet Singh, Director of Satnam Enterprises Delhi and P.N. Kala welcomed the guest upon his arrival and lodged him in the VIP guest opposite to Parliament House.
