On Saturday evening, October 3rd, Minhaj ul Quran International (Bradford) hosted a fundraising dinner for AGOSH Orphanage. Almost 500 delegates were present for a hugely successful and enjoyable charity event for Agosh. Almost £20,000 was raised during the event. The New Venue was the location for the charity dinner in aid of Agosh Orphanage.

Shaykh-ul-Islam condemns bomb blasts in NWFP
On September 26, 2009, attended by a large number of people from Pakistani, Indian and Turkish communities, an Eid Reunion was organized under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Austria at the residence of Malik Muhammad Amin. Local Austrian people were also in attendance of the programme as a mark of solidarity with their Muslim counterparts.
Chairman of Evacuee Property Board, Sayyid Asif Hashmi, hosted a dinner in a local hotel in the honour of the Sikh Pilgrims who were on visit to Lahore to participate in the programmes of death anniversary of Baba Gru Nanak. Sohail Ahmad Raza, Director of MQI's Interfaith Relations, also attended the dinner along with a delegation. The programme was held on 27 Sep, 2009.
Officers from the Newham Safer Transport Team visited the Minhaj Ul Quran Mosque during the Holy time of Ramadan. This was an opportunity for the officers to celebrate with the local community who were breaking their fast.

Today Shaykh-ul-Islam spoke on Tasawwuf especially Zuhd known as renunciation or self-erasure. He observed with regret that people living on hunger and thirst have passed away centuries ago. Allama Iqbal perceived it with pain and turned towards the great spiritual master Pir Mehr Ali Shah to understand the philosophy of union with God.
Itikaf City 2009 organized under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International came to an end on September 20, 2009 on the 29th of the holy month of Ramadan. The participants of the Itikaf City started their last day’s activities with tearful supplications before their Lord. A grand Mehfil-e-Naat was held on the preceding night.
On September 20, 2009, Minhaj-ul-Quran International (Japan) organized an Eid-ul-Fitr congregation in the Bantu city of Japan. Since this was a weekly off-day, a large number of people attended the congregation. The Eid-ul-Fitre prayers were offered at 9 a.m. Allama Muhammad Azhar Saeed, a young scholar from MQI UK who had especially flown to Japan during the holy month of Ramadan, threw light on the situation confronting Pakistan and the Muslim world in his keynote speech on the occasion.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him) said: "Whoever stands in prayer during the nights of Ramadan, firm in faith and with a hope of reward, will be forgiven his previous sins."
Shaykh-ul-Islam asked the participants of the Itikaf City to go home with the message, commitment and determination that every one of them would not rest in life unless he undertook the obligation of protecting and reviving the religion. Everyone should have the knowledge of religion in order to be able to invite people to the good.
The proceedings of 28th Ramadan, the eighth day of Women Training Itikaf started as usual. The ‘mu’takifat’ were wakened up by the Sunna and Salat Committee chanting the spiritual melody of Durood-o-Salam. The supererogatory ritual prayer of Tahajjud was performed. Every participant had a feeling of tranquility getting closer to their spiritual training wind-up. The food was served in their rooms.
The 19th International Spiritual Gathering 2009 was held on the intervening night of September 17 and 18 in Jamia al-Minhaj, Township, Lahore under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri delivered a special address on the occasion, which was telecast live around the globe via ARY Digital. Millions of people including the thousands of the participants of the Itikaf City watched the speech on their TV screens.
Shaykh-ul-Islam said that he does not claim that he read every book published in the 1300 year old history of mysticism but whatever literature came his way, he studied it penetratingly. He said that he never read any saying or comment of Sufi and saint who would have made saintliness conditional upon ‘wird’ and ‘wazifa’, thereby fixing its number as a criterion of becoming a saint. The Holy Prophet (S.A.W) said that peace of hearts and magnanimity of selves made people saints.
After the speech and special Dua by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri the ‘mu’takifat’ took Sehri food offered Fajr prayer and took rest. They were wakened up at 10.00 for congregational Salat-ut-Tasbih. This was the seventh day of the Women Training Itikaf. Salat-ut-Tasbih was followed by Juma’a sermon by Shaykh-ul-Islam.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Allah Almighty likes shedding of tears out of repentance for the sins and wrongs committed. After His subjects beseech Him to show His mercy, He forgives them. The tears coming out from the eyes of people are the signs of Divine forgiveness.
